Things to know about your pickup

Once your paperwork is complete we will arrange a carrier to pick it up, usually within 1–10 days. Here’s how to get ready.

Before pickup

  • Keep your phone handy. The transport will contact you directly to set a pickup window. Answer or call back quickly, because missed calls are the most common cause of delays.
  • Choose an easy spot to load. Carriers often use large trucks that can’t fit on narrow streets or into apartment garages. If your home is hard to reach, suggest a nearby parking lot.
  • Keep the car charged to at least 50%. EVs lose a little charge each day while parked. Starting at 50% means the car still has enough power for the driver to load it onto the truck, even if pickup takes a week or more.
  • Remove your personal items, including garage openers, charging cables you’re keeping, and toll tags.
  • Have every key fob and key card ready to hand over.

At pickup

  • Scan the driver’s QR code located on the gate pass document. Your driver will have the gate pass document which has the QR code for you to scan before you hand over the car. It confirms the pickup details and that this driver is authorized to collect your vehicle. If the driver can’t show a code, or the details don’t match, don’t release the car. Contact us first.
  • The driver will check the car and note its condition. Take a few photos of your own too.
  • Sign the Bill of Lading. After that, you’re done.

After pickup

  • Sign out of the car’s app and remove it from your account. For Teslas, transfer the app’s ownership following the instructions here.
  • Cancel your insurance and registration only after the car has been picked up.
