Wyoming: notifying the DMV after you sell

Wyoming doesn't have a sale notice for sellers. You're protected by signing the title over correctly, handling your plates and keeping good records.

At a glance

  • Required? No. Wyoming has no sale notice for sellers.
  • Deadline: None for you
  • Form: None
  • Where to file: Nothing to file

What to do

  1. Sign the title over to Plug in front of a notary. Wyoming requires the title to be notarized before you hand it over.
  2. A Bill of Sale is recommended. Keep a copy.
  3. Remove your plates before pickup.

Your license plates

  • Remove your plates before pickup. They're yours, not the car's.
  • Transfer, surrender or destroy them.

Keep for your records

  • A copy of the signed title
  • Your Bill of Sale
